Extensive, online psychological assessments tend to screen out many applicants with autism or developmental disabilties who can't read between the lines to understand what a question is really asking. I would love to see a full ban on these types of screening tools. If that's not possible, perhaps employers could extend an option to their applicants to allow program staff assist them as they complete the tests. That would at least help job seekers with disabilities who are working with employment providers. It doesn't, however, help higher functioning applicants like my daughter, who are uncomfortable disclosing prior to being hired.
