Ensure Wheelchair Ramps are at locations that support services

Believe it or not, sometimes, the very offices that are meant to help those with disabilities are themselves inaccessible. I've heard this from those with disabilities, and was actually pretty incredulous when I did hear it from them. In Philadelphia, PA there is an integration model taking place to enhance career pathways. PA CareerLink Philadelphia coordinates office space so an OVR counselor can have an office in the one-stop 1-2 days/week for job seekers who self-ID. SOFT SKILLS

A person can have the most technical skill, however if s/he is lacking the ability to work with Suzy on a project s/he could be fired. There needs to be training for individuals on soft skills. Too often, people look at companies purely as employers. Staff supporting individuals need to learn to speak to businesses: understand what business cycle the company is in, know the pain points of the business, assess gaps, know business lingo. Provide online work interfaces with longer work sessions

Specifically, much of what slows down people with certain disabilities is the fact that they work a little more slowly. The consequence is that they often get kicked out of online work sessions, due to the way network administrators set time limits. Redfine employment goals based on student interest/ability

If a student has a goal which may not be attainable, perhaps tweak it to honor their interest, rather than disregarding. I still remember the story of a young student who wanted more than anything to be in the military but would not be able to pass the physical. His supporters, rather than saying he couldn't do it, found him a job at a recruiting center that allowed him to work in his field of choice.
